COSTA NOVA (PORTUGAL)

COSTA NOVA (ÍLHAVO)
 40.60975º N; 8.74898º W

The most picturesque image of Costa Nova is that of its waterfront, where wooden haystacks line up, painted with stripes of strong colors alternating with white. Built by fishermen for shelter or storage of fishing gear, these restored haystacks are now pleasant holiday homes.
Bathed by a rough sea, much appreciated by surfers, Costa Nova Beach has vast sand that extends south towards Praia da Vagueira, where hiking enthusiasts can exercise. On the other side of the road, the Ria de Aveiro with its calm waters, great for sailing and windsurfing, provides a completely different landscape.
