Geography
Palhaça is located in the extreme northwest of the municipality of Oliveira do Bairro and 11 km from the city that is the seat of the municipality; It sits on a kind of small plateau, extremely fertile from an agricultural point of view, to which you can access all the access roads, with the exception of the southern one, which connects it immediately with the center of Bairrada. The President of the Board in office for this term is Manuel Augusto dos Santos Martins, Secretary, Jorge Ribeiro, and Treasurer, Carlos Santos.

It is 15 kilometers from Aveiro, headquarters of the district, diocese and region, and 45 kilometers from Coimbra, with which it is in communication more than once a day.

In addition to the good road that crosses it from north to south, bringing the two cities mentioned into contact, another crosses it in an east-west direction, connecting the beautiful city of Águeda, on the slopes of Caramulo, to the riverside village of Vagos. Separating the parish of Palhaça from Nariz, but on the Vila Nova side, stretches a delightful depression, full of lush color that we call Vale do Ribeirinho.

Towards Oiã, between Vila Nova and the Águas-Boas pine forests, stretch the Adioga and Canas Valleys (Balcanas). To the west, between Palhaça and Carregosa, extend the Barros, planted with vineyards, and Gandra das Masseiras.

The parish of Palhaça is patronized by S. Pedro and the following places are part of it: Palhaça, Vila Nova, Pedreira (part of the parish of Oiã), Carregais, Chousa, Fonte de bebe e vai-te (Fonte da Baita), Roque (part of the parish of Nariz), Val do Rato, Rebolo, Arieiro, Albergue, Tojeira.
